Mantissa St Park Spring [S-7220] is one of 4 sites monitored by Group [ G-2909] Underwood Hills AaS

Site Description: Mantissa St Park is a designated Nature Preserve in Underwood Hills. The spring emerges from the site of a former quarry behind houses on Woodland Hills Ave NW, Cambria Ave NW and Volberg St NW.

Special Information:After flowing beneath a culvert on Mantissa St it is submerged into the stormwater system behind houses on Seaboard Ave NW. It is of interest due to the Nature Preserve and as several houses adjoining still rely on Septic systems due to the subterranean rock making sewerage supply difficult.
