Site Description: Gay Creek is a suburban, sandy bottom, perinnial stream that originates just south of Fayettville, GA in Harp, GA. It terminates at its confluence with the Flint River at +/- 4.5 miles away from its origin. The sampling site on Gay Creek is located within Morgan Grove Nature which is owned and managed by Southern Conservation Trust. It is a lightly visited park, with little to no impacts to the stream by visitor use.
