AZ Kelsey Stream [S-5058] is one of 6 sites monitored by Group [ G-1801] City of Griffin Stormwater

Site Description: AZ Kelsey Stream is next to AZ Kelsey School/Mainstay Academy, as well as the Fairmont Community Garden. This stream runs though two concrete culverts, past a parking lot which drains into it and on to flow past the Cabin Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant (currently being renovated)

Special Information:This stream was the site of a 319 great stream restoration and has had serious work done on the banks and flow of the stream. Rocks and riffles were added. Macroinvertebrates and fish have been observed in the stream. Native vegetation was planted to act a buffer, but has not grown up enough to shade the stream. There is a remediation area between the stream and the parking lot, designed to catch and filter any runoff.
