Kenilworth Lake [S-3815] is one of 1 sites monitored by Group [ G-2091] The Kenilworth Lake Effects

Site Description: Kenilworth Lake is an approx. 18-acre lake. It is in the center of a heavily treed older neighborhood with controlled by a neighborhood assn. Immediately outside Kenilworth Estates is a bustling commercial district, constantly in flux, continually developing, at times effecting the lake with pollutant runoffs. However, Kenilworth Lake has remained clean and swim-safe. As of June, 2015, the lake is in need of Sunfish and Bluegill fish stocking, which should occur late this summer.

Special Information:The Kenilworth Lake watershed is expansive as the lake itself is at a lower elevation than the surrounding commercial area--mainly the commercial area at the intersection of Memorial Drive and North Hairston Road. We are currently aware of a semi-truck repair business--illegally operating on W. Memorial Drive producing fuel runoff being deposited into the lake. We have been in contact with DeKalb County officials (for over a year). No action has been taken.
