Peavine Creek headwater tributary [S-2085] is one of 3 sites monitored by Group [ G-1521] Parkwood Garden Club

Site Description: Parkwood Park is a 3.2 acre linear, riparian stream zone wooded Park owned and maintained by the Parkwood Garden Club, a neighborhood association straddling Historic Druid Hills and City of Decatur. This headwater tributary of Peavine Creek runs from south to north through the center of this Park. Inputs include stormwater runoff from East Lake MARTA Station parking lots and runoff from backyard storm drains on W Parkwood Rd, as well as street curb drains on W and E Parkwood Rds. These particular coordinates are for a site located immediately adjacent to my personal private property on the downstream side. The intention is to monitor, over time, the effects of my planned landscaping changes such as exotic plant removal and native species re-introduction on my own property on the water quality as it is leaving my property.

Special Information:The intention of monitoring this particular site is to evaluate the impacts of my planned landscaping changes to my own personal property on the quality of water leaving my property. This data today is baseline data, as most changes to my property have not begun yet. Changes involve exotic and invasive plant removal and the reintroduction and propagation of native species. I plan to add some mulched paths through my property to enjoy the stream better and the plants there.
