New Point Branch [upstream] [S-1188] is one of 4 sites monitored by Group [ G-1128] New Point Branch Study

Site Description: A wet weather stream (at least second order)that disappears into sandy soil above sampling site ID S-1185. Much of the flow seems ground water derived, although in times of high rain fall some flow comes from unstream channel which passes under US Highway 280 and drains an old about 2 acre cow pasture. Most of the watershed is woodland with little human activity. At sampling point stream flows over a series of moss covered rock, resembling a mountain brook

Special Information:Chemical conditions appear to be slightly different from S-1185. This site should be monitored to better understand stream processes in this area. Two monitoring sites downstream from this point have also been selected for monitoring. Biological habitat is different from that normally monitored in the AAS program and may present a sampling and interpertation concern.

This site has 18 recorded monitoring events.
