New Point Branch [un-named] [S-1184] is one of 4 sites monitored by Group [ G-1128] New Point Branch Study

Site Description: A second order tributary to Wolf Creek (Muckalee Cr watershed), originating just south of US Highway 280. Sampling site is wooded (decidious) with a series of pools formed by root impoundment and by beaver dams. Stream at sampling station is 1 to 1.5 meters in width. Watershed is largely undisturbed.

Special Information:Because of large amount of root and other woody material, shallow depth and narrow width, net sampling for biological monitoring will be difficult.

Stream flow across rood empoundments is fast but is slow through wider empoundments.
